BUILDERS are all set to move onto the Ford County Ground soon to begin redevelopment work at Essex CCC's home.
Construction is due to start in the next few weeks on a block of 62 apartments, the first of three towerblocks planned, after the club reached an agreement with Chelmsford Council over the acquisition of the New Writtle Street car park.
Keith Brown, chairman of the ground redevelopment committee, said: "It will be the most iconic and prestigious development in Chelmsford.
“Chelmsford Council has been most supportive in wishing to see the redevelopment of the County Ground and ensuring that it will remain the home of Essex Cricket for many years."
The news comes just a few day after the club announced a pre-tax financial loss of £62,256 for 2013.
