Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire was full of praise for his players after seeing them beat Wrexham 3-0 to complete a Skrill Premier home and away double over the Welsh side.
He said: “To beat Wrexham 3-0 and do the double over such a big club means a lot.
“The performance was excellent.
“They came back into it after half-time and we lost it a bit for about 15 minutes, but we stepped it back up again and went through and scored the two goals.
“To win 3-0 is great for us.”
Devonshire was delighted to see strikers Sean Marks and Den Holman on the scoresheet and he also had praise for Watford loanee Alex Jakubiak, who scored the third goal on his Braintree Town debut.
“Marksey does such a great job for us and he hadn’t scored for a while so I was really pleased for him,” added the Iron boss.
“From the angle I was looking at, I didn’t know if he could squeeze the ball in so it was good to see it go in.
“And Dan has four in five games now so I’m pleased for him too.
“The strikers have done well and the loan boys have also helped us out and given us legs in areas where we needed them.
“I was very pleased for Alex to come on and score on his debut.
“The lad isn’t even 18 until August.
“He comes with high recommendation, so we’ll look after him and what a great finish to start his career at Braintree.”
