With part one of the job completed, Witham Hockey Club’s men have their sights firmly set on ticking off part two as they look to go up in style from East League division three south east.
Having been relegated from division two last year, Witham have been the dominant force in division three south east this season and ensured they would be promoted with a 5-0 win at bottom side Crostyx last weekend.
So with promotion safely in the bank, Richard Marshall’s team want to go up as champions and know they can wrap up the title with a win against second-placed Saffron Walden on Saturday.
Marshall said: “It was a relief to get the promotion sorted.
“It has been on the cards for the last few weeks, but you don’t want to jump the gun, so we’re very happy to finally get it confirmed."
The game against Saffron Walden starts at 3.30pm tomorrow at Witham’s Bramston Sports Ground base.
