Witham Town ensured their away form stayed almost as strong as their home with an 11th Ryman League division one north win on the road at Aveley.

Garry Kimble's side are unbeaten at the Village Glass Stadium so far this year, but their away record is nearly as impressive and they strengthened their bid for title honours with a dominant victory.

Early goals set the scene with Danny Emmanuel's ninth-minute goal backing up Kris Newby's strike in the second minute as the visitors surged into a 2-0 lead.

That was the way it stayed until late in the game when James Stevens added a third from the penalty spot with two minutes to go to wrap up another three points.

Witham are now fifth and nine points behind leaders VCD Athletic, but have four games in hand over their rivals.

The next outing for Kimble's team will be at the Village Glass Stadium against Barkingside on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm).
