Braintree Town are confident that they will get their first home Skrill Premier fixture since December 28 tonight when Cambridge United visit the Amlin Stadium.
A waterlogged Amlin Stadium pitch has denied the Iron any home action since their win against Tamworth at the end of 2013.
They have twice had games against Cambridge called-off, with tonight's fixture originally planned for New Year's Day.
Chairman Lee Harding told the Times that having that game postponed could cost Braintree in the region of £20,000, but he was confident that it would finally go ahead tonight.
Ground staff reported that pitch drainage renovation works completed over the past few days were coping well and a statement on the club's website said there was "no doubt" about this evening's match would be played.
No pre-match pitch inspection is planned and turnstiles will open at 6.15pm for a 7.45pm kick-off.
