Braintree Town had to be content with just a point as they finally saw some Skrill Premier action at Kidderminster Harriers.
It was the Iron’s first league action since a 1-0 defeat at Woking on January 11 after a run of postponements due to waterlogged pitches.
So they may have expected an element of rustiness and would have settled for a draw before their trip to the Aggborough Stadium.
However, having taken a 2-0 lead with goals by Matt Paine and Dan Holman, there was a bit of disappointment at the end as they found themselves pegged back in the final 15 minutes.
Harriers substitute Amari Morgan-Smith scored both of the hosts’ goals in a four-minute spell and the game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Iron boss Alan Devonshire said: “Before the game we would have taken a point, but disappointed that we didn’t take the three after it.”
The point moved Braintree up a place to 17th in the Skrill Premier table and their next game is now a home fixture against Cambridge United on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm).
