Braintree Town and Witham Town both face yet another weekend without football after their respective home games were postponed due to waterlogged pitches.

Any hopes either had of getting their games on were ended by the severe weather that swept across the country on Friday.

Witham had been due to host Waltham Abbey at the Village Glass Stadium in Ryman League division one north, while Braintree had a game scheduled at the Amlin Stadium against Wrexham in the Skrill Premier.

It is yet another blow to two clubs who are racking up a sizeable backlog of games in their respective leagues.

Braintree have not had a home league fixture since December 28, while Witham have managed just two midweek games since the start of January and none of the more financially lucrative Saturday home outings.

Both will hope for better luck on Tuesday.

Witham are due to host Harlow Town (kick-off 7.45pm) in division one north, while Braintree face a Skrill Premier trip to FC Halifax Town.
