While he can’t fit all of them into every one of his matchday plans, Witham Town manager Garry Kimble is asking his players to be ready for when they are needed.

Kimble appreciates there will be members of his squad who will be disappointed that they aren’t included in the 16 to line-up against Tilbury in Ryman League division one north at the Village Glass Stadium tomorrow (kick-off 3pm).

But he knows he will need them at some point and will need them to be fighting fit when they are.

He said: “Winning is a good habit to have and with the run that we’ve had recently, it has made it hard for some players to break into the team, but everyone has to be ready when they are needed.

“I can’t wait for people to get themselves fit.

“They have to be ready even if they aren’t in the side at the moment.

“Paul King has picked up a hamstring injury and Brad Stopher came in last weekend.

“He was disappointed to be out of the team, but he was ready and did very well when he came back in.

“That’s what I need, but I know I’ve got people who will be disappointed not to be playing “It might come to it so that I’ve got to let some go.

“I can only name 16 in a matchday squad and some players may not want to wait around.

“I want to keep as many as I can, though, because we have a big Christmas coming up and we also have some suspensions coming up.

“Paul King is out for Saturday and I’ve also got Kris Newby out at the weekend as well as the Boxing Day game at Soham.”
