There was a sting in the tail for hosts Braintree Town in their FA Trophy second round tie against Lincoln City.
The visitors struck late to edge the win and then added an injury-time goal to secure a 3-1 victory at the Amlin Stadium.
Sean Marks gave the Iron the lead when he slammed home Dan Holman's downward header in the box in the 21st minute.
However, Lincoln hit back after the break when Sean Newton's ball in from the left was glanced past Nick Hamann in the Braintree goal by the head of Chris Sharp.
Lincoln were on top at that stage, but Braintree made changes and had chances to get back in front.
The best of these fell to substitute Jordan Cox, who could only steer a header over the bar from six yards out from a long throw by Exodus Geohaghon in the 83rd minute.
Instead it was the Imps who capitalised from a long throw-in by Tom Miller at the other end when Luke Foster headed home with just a minute to go.
And as Braintree threw men forward to look for a leveller, Lincoln wrapped it up with when Bohan Dixon's shot pinged off the post, on to the back of Hamann and over the line.
