Kimble pleased with dominant Trophy replay performance
Witham Town set up an FA Trophy first qualifying round tie against St Albans City at the second time of asking.
They earned their passage through the preliminary round with a 4-2 win in their replay against Ware at the Village Glass Stadium.
Witham manager Garry Kimble said: “We went behind, but once we had levelled the game, we played some nice stuff and we played them off the park in the second half.
“It could have been more than four at the end, but we got the job done.”
Kimble had seen some tiredness in his players in the first encounter between the two sides after the disappointment of getting knocked out of the FA Cup a few days earlier, but he was pleased with how they picked up in the replay against Ware.
He added: “I rested a couple and I was very pleased with the performance.
“The players showed me they had got over the way we exited the FA Cup.
“Lewis Godbold was back to his best and James Stevens’ range of passing was second to none.”
