Devonshire: there's more to come from my Iron team
Alan Devonshire is confident that Braintree Town fans haven’t seen the best of his team yet.
The Iron host Alfreton Town in the Skrill Premier tomorrow (kick-off 3pm) basking in the glow of their 3-2 win at Wrexham in midweek, but Devonshire feels his team can get even stronger.
“I think there is more to come,” he said.
“There are also a few who I feel can play better, but we’re going along nicely.
“I’ve looked at our opening games and there have been some tough games in there.
“We’re now a quarter of the way through the season and we’ve already played four or five teams who you’d back to be in the top six.
“So I’m well happy to have as many points as we’ve got at this stage.”
Devonshire said he had no fresh injury concerns after the Wrexham game and hoped both Dean Wells and Sean Marks would have had no reaction to playing in Wales after passing fitness tests ahead of that game.
He was also hopeful that Luke Daley may be fit to return after an ankle problem.
