Devonshire expects changes for trip to Wales
Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire is expecting changes when his team travel to Wales for their latest Skrill Premier game tonight.
The Iron head to Wrexham after a 1-0 home win against Southport at the weekend, but that game may have come at a cost.
Dean Wells played through the pain barrier after injuring his hip in Saturdays’ warm-up, while Sean Marks came off with a groin problem and both will be assessed for the trip to Wales.
Devonshire said: “Deano was injured before the game.
“He did his hip and was touch and go, but we asked him before the game if he could get on the pitch to give us 45 minutes and when he got by with that, we got another 45 minutes and now we’ll have to wait and see how he is.
“He got by through reading the game and it shows how important a player he is for us but we’ll have to monitor it now and may have to leave him out.
“Sean (Marks) has a slight groin problem and we may have to change the system for Tuesday.
“I have seen them play, I know what I want to do and if I have to put some fresh legs in there then so be it.
“That’s what you have a squad for.”
Danny Sparkes missed Saturday’s game through illness as did Luke Daley with an ankle problem and both may be doubts again tonight.
