Kimble wants a more clinical edge in front of goal
Witham Town manager Garry Kimble wants to see his team sharpen up in front of goal despite their progression to the second qualifying round of the FA Cup.
Goals by Kris Newby, Rob Whitnell and Danny Emmanuel brought a 3-1 victory at Mildenhall Town in their first qualifying round replay to set up a tie at Hemel Hempstead Town in the next stage.
However, Kimble felt their winning margin should have been more emphatic, especially as the hosts spent most of the second half with only ten men.
He said: “It was comfortable in the end and to be honest, it was like a training game after they had the man sent off.
“We made the extra man count and it took its toll in the end, but our final ball was letting us down.
“We are creating so many chances, but not putting them away and we could have been three or four ahead before they even had a shot on target.
“But we’re mostly playing well at the moment and the result was the main thing in a tie like this.”
