Alan Devonshire insists he will take care of ensuring Braintree Town’s Blue Square Bet Premier safety before he turns his thoughts to his own position at the Iron.

The 56-year-old former West Ham and England winger’s current contract as Braintree manager is due to end in May.

He said both he and the club are happy with the situation, but added that any fresh contract negotiations will take a back seat until the team’s position in the top flight of non-league football is secure for next season.
