Witham Town manager Garry Kimble has lavished praise on his two Dannys after his side recorded their third win in their last four Ryman League division one north games.

Danny Lopez was on target twice and Danny Emmanuel once as Witham beat Waltham Abbey 3-0 at Spa Road and Kimble is impressed with how both the pacey midfielders are playing at the moment.

He said: “We were a bit jittery at the start and the game was being played in the midfield rather than up front where we wanted it.

“But we got the first goal just before half-time thanks to Danny Lopez and that made getting the second crucial.

“It came midway through the second half with another strike by Danny Lopez from 25 yards and his back flip celebration was great as you could see how much it meant to him.

“Danny Emmanuel was superb as well and he got our third with a goal that was out of this world.

“If a Premier League player had scored it, you would be talking about it for ages as he cut in off the left, blitzed the full-back, went past the centre-half and deftly tucked it past the keeper – it was a fantastic goal.

“I’m pleased for both of them as they are both showing me and the fans what they are really capabale of and they’re playing with real confidence now, which is what I want from them.

“But it wasn’t just them, it was a good team performance and I was very pleased with the commitment and how they all played.

“We got in Waltham Abbey’s faces right for the off and that was very nice to see.”

Witham are now due to face AFC Sudbury at home on Saturday in the league (kick-off 3pm).
