Witham Town were quickly back into their stride after a midweek hiccup as they beat Romford 1-0 in Ryman League division one north.
Garry Kimble's team had suffered a 2-1 defeat by Redbridge last Tuesday that ended a three-game unbeaten run, but they got back to winning ways at the first time of asking.
The result reinforced Witham's ninth place in the table ahead of their game at Chatham Town on Tuesday.
