Braintree Town have announced that they were able to arrange some last gasp business during the January transfer window.

Alan Devonshire said ahead of the deadline that he didn't feel that any late deals would go through, but he was able to wrap up one more loan deal in the end.

With just 55 minutes to go before the end of the window, the Iron boss was able to add 19-year-old midfielder Aaron Wickham to his squad on a loan deal from League One side Crawley Town.

Wickham would have been available to play in the Iron's Blue Square Bet Premier game against Lincoln City today, but the game has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch at the Amlin Stadium.

Wickham has not made any appearances for Crawley so far this season, but has already had loan spells at Met Police and Lewes.
