Waterlogged pitch sinks Braintree's hopes of a game in South Wales

Braintree Town's Blue Square Bet Premier fixture at Newport County tonight has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Melting snow coupled with heavy rainfall have left parts of the Rodney Parade surface under water and the decision to call the game off was taken at an early morning pitch inspection on Tuesday.

It means Braintree's next action will now be their home game against Lincoln City on Saturday.
