Garry Kimble is confident that his Witham Town players will be ready to go when they get back to Ryman League division one north action at Essex rivals Harlow Town tonight.

Both sides will be playing after more than two weeks on the sidelines because of the recent snow, but Kimble has no fears that his players won’t be prepared.

The Town manager said he had a fully fit squad and was keen to see them pick up the form they had before their enforced time off.

Kimble said: “We were going so well before the break for the weather and were playing some good football, but we are like all teams and have to deal with it.

“We have to be professional, but there is always an element of fear when you come back from a lengthy time out.

“It can somethimes be slow to get going again.

“Even though our league game against Brentwood was off, we managed to set up a friendly against Bowers and Pitsea on Saturday, which we won 8-1 and it was just good to get game time for the players.

“That’s the important thing because we have to hit the ground running when we are back in action and even a friendly game can help you keep your touch and match fitness going.

“I could see the lads had been working hard and I know they are itching to get going properly again.”
