Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire admitted his team had luck on their side, but felt they were worthy winners as they beat AFC Telford 3-2 in the Blue Square Bet Premier.
Sean Marks, Luke Daley and Kenny Davis found the target as the Iron picked up a valuable three points to move them five points clear of the relegation zone.
Devonshire said: “We were a bit fortunate with certain things, but you need a bit of luck sometimes and we got the rub of the green in this one.
“It was a good win.
“We scored three goals and have won four out of our last seven games now.
“That isn’t bad.
“From 21 points we have got 12 and that’s a good return for us.
“If we keep doing that until the end of the season then we’ll be fine."
Both Telford's replies came from the boot of Nathan Rooney.
The first was a delicate lob from just outside the box to make it 2-1, while the second was an exquiste free-kick that was curled into the top corner from 30 yards.
However, it came too late to affect the final outcome.
