Braintree Town’s players answered the call of their boss and completed their first Blue Square Bet Premier home and away double of the season with a win at Tamworth.

Manager Alan Devonshire had asked for more quality in front of goal ahead of their trip to the Potteries and his team responded with four goals.

Those strikes earned a third win in the last five games, with the three points moving the Iron back out of the relegation zone.

The victory, which was sealed with goals by Dan Holman, Matt Paine, Luke Daley and Kenny Davis, followed Braintree’s 3-1 defeat of the Lambs at the Amlin Stadium in September.
