Waterlogged Spa Road pitch sinks Witham's Boxing Day match hopes

Any chance of Witham Town getting some post-festive football was sunk by the heavy rain that Essex saw on Christmas Day.
The rain that drenched the area the previous day meant the Spa Road pitch was waterlogged at a 9am Boxing Day pitch inspection.
That meant there was no chance of Witham's Ryman League division north game against Redbridge going ahead.
Town's next game will now be their encounter with Waltham Abbey at Spa Road on Saturday.
