While Braintree Town will respect one of the Blue Square Bet Premier’s promotion favourites, manager Alan Devonshire insists Forest Green Rovers should hold no fears for his team tonight.

The Iron face the fourth-placed side at the Amlin Stadium with a record of only two league wins to their name all season and bookmakers had Rovers priced at evens for a three-point haul ahead of the clash.

But Braintree were boosted by a dominant win at Southport in their last outing a week-and-a-half ago and Devonshire is confident his team can improve their home form He said: “Teams have been sitting back against us this year as we had such a good home record last year.

“We have to keep finding ways to counter that and we’ll be giving it our best shot tonight as we always do.

“As a manager, you have different ideas and you have to see if the players can execute them.

“We know it will be tough against a side like Forest Green, but we’ll give it a good go.

“We’ll go into it like we do every game, thinking that we can get a win.

“We will respect Forest Green, but we certainly won’t fear them.”

Braintree’s only injury concerns are Stevenage loanee striker Don Cowan (ankle) and midfielder Brad Quinton (calf), while Nicky Symons is suspended.
