Garry Kimble is hoping that unfamiliar territory proves a happy hunting ground for his Witham Town team once again this weekend.

In the course of their Ryman League division one north campaign this season, the Witham manager has taken his players to several venues that he has never been to before and they have all seen his team come back to Spa Road with three points safely tucked away.

The latest in the list was the 1-0 win they claimed at AFC Sudbury’s King’s Marsh last weekend and Kimble is hoping the run can be extended when they head to another new ground on Saturday – Grays Athletic’s Rush Green Stadium.

Kimble said: “Sudbury are a good side on paper, but they played like 11 individuals, while we played like a group of 11 people who would run through brick walls for each other.

“Our lads put their heart and soul into it and I was very proud of everyone who went out there.

“I think it was our best away performance of the season with the way the players really put their bodies on the line.

“We looked really strong and not conceding was a bonus.

“It also continued a welcome trend because we kept the run going of winning at every new ground I have been to this season.

“I’d never been to Wroxham, Soham, Needham Market or Sudbury before and we’ve won at every one of them.

“On Saturday we’re going to Rush Green Stadium to face Grays and that’s another ground I’ve never been to so it would ne nice to keep the run going."
