Today marks 60 years since world leaders adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
As Braintree and District Amnesty Group celebrates this anniversary, we would encourage readers of the Braintree and Witham Times to mark it by taking part in our annual greetings card campaign and sending a message of goodwill and solidarity to those around the world who are at the sharp end of confronting human rights abuse or have suffered such mistreatment.
We will be holding a stall at Braintree Freeport on December 16 and January 9, as a part of the campaign. This year there are more than 30 groups and individuals featured in the campaign, including a pro-democracy activist in Burma who is being held in solitary confinement and is in need of medical attention.

Secretary, Braintree and District Amnesty Group
