Firefighters were called to a warehouse fire, to find 60 tonnes of refuse alight.
The fire, which was recorded as accidental by the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, started last night at an industrial estate on Cranes Farm Road, Basildon.
Fire crews arrived swiftly at the scene, to attend to the fire which was contained within concrete boundaries.
On-site staff assisted firefighters by removing the refuse from the pile, helping crews to extinguish it.
The fire was fully extinguished by 1.30am this morning.
