Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Westcliff on Sunday, July 22.
The victim, a woman in her 60s, entered the public toilet on Western Esplanade near to The Leas around 4pm, when it was reported a man approached and restrained the woman before threatening her.
The woman, who thankfully wasn't hurt, ran towards Toulouse restaurant and alerted members of the public.
The victim described the man as in his late-40s, around 5ft 3ins tall and short black hair.
He was wearing a shirt and trousers and spoke with what was believed by the victim to be either a French or Italian accent.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information is asked to contact Southend Police Station on 101, quoting reference 42/105407/18.
