easyJet has announced a new route from Southend Airport to Budapest which will commence this winter.

The Hungarian capital Budapest will be served by easyJet from November 2 with flights on sale now.

Flights will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays.

Fares start from £37.23 one way per person.

The new service is expected to carry more than 37,000 customers year round.

Sophie Dekkers, easyJet’s UK commercial director, said: “We are delighted to continue to strengthen our selection of routes from London Southend with the addition of this new service to Budapest.

“We are sure this route will prove a popular addition to our route network from London Southend especially for those visiting friends and family and perfect for those looking for a city break on the banks of the river Danube.”

easyJet now operates 21 destinations from London Southend having been operating from the airport for the last six years.

The airline will carry one million passengers from the airport this year.
