Calling all would-be actors - especially young ones.

A south Essex based theatre group is on a search for new talent for its forthcoming production.

The Thalian Theatre Group will put on a production of The Snow Queen at the Towngate Theatre in Basildon in November.

The group - who have been performing in Basildon for four decades -are now hosting casting calls in a bid to attract actors for the show.

Director Penny Betteridge said: “Our latest venture requires a large cast of actors from ages ten upwards.

“We`re fewer in number now but for this show we need a lot of younger actors.”

So if you fancy treading the boards, why not go along to an open audition. All auditions will be held at Laindon Community Centre in Aston Road, Laindon:

On Tuesday July 17th - 8pm - 9pm for children aged 10 and over and 9pm-10pm for adults.

On Thursday July 19 - 7pm-8pm for children and 8pm-10pm for adults and on Tuesday July 24 - 8pm - 10pm for adults.

Penny added: “The Thalian Theatre Group is a friendly community with much experience of all types of production,performing regularly at Towngate Theatre.

“If you are interested please come along - and it isn’t just in acting. You can get involved in backstage work as well. It’s all good fun.”
