Canvey Carnival has set out on its annual parade as crowds line the streets to watch.
The colourful parade set out from Thorney Bay Park at 12pm today, with the route expected to take around two hours.
At the end of the procession there will also be a festival event, held at Labworth Field until 5pm.
Around 12 floats are taking part in the procession, raising money for the carnival's chosen good causes - Phoenix Karate Club, Canvey Youth Football Club, Cornelius Vermuyden Young Musician of the Year, and Canvey Island Youth Project.
Despite England's big World Cup game taking place this afternoon, organisers are expecting this year to be the biggest carnival yet.
