A man who had been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died in an alleged raid of a laundrette in Grays has been released without charge

His arrest followed an incident at Baylee’s laundrette in Southend Road, Grays, on Monday December 4, during which Paul Robertson, 39, of Milton Keynes, died from multiple injuries.

The police also confirmed that they are no longer looking for a suspect in connection to Paul Robertson's death.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "After reviewing the evidence and following enquiries with a number of witnesses and people brought into custody for questioning, we have today released a 39-year-old from Grays, who was arrested on suspicion of murder, without charge. 

"We are also satisfied that we are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the death of Mr Robertson at Baylee’s laundrette in Southend Road, Grays, on Monday, December 4."

Jerome Johnson, 36, and Harrison Fryer, 24, both of Charter Place, Watford, appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, February 16. 

Police previously charged Michael Williams, 35, of Old Farm Park, Milton Keynes, and Joseph Pearl, 28, of Charter Place, Watford, with conspiracy to rob and both are due to stand trial on Monday, June 4.

A 38-year-old man from Bushey, Hertfordshire, arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary on Thursday, February 8, and he was released under investigation.
