Police have charged a man with theft, possession of drugs and two counts of assault following an incident in Stanford-le-Hope.
27-year-old Jeremiah Connors, of Queenwood Road, Stanford-le-Hope, is due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, March 22.
Police received reports at 6.55pm on Wednesday, November 22, that a man had allegedly assaulted a woman in the Co-Op store, in High Street, after she challenged him about a theft.
They also received reports that the man apparently assaulted this woman who filmed the incident outside.
Police arrested a man today (Friday, February 16) and while he was in custody they found a bag of class A drugs.
