Give a Gift
The Give a Gift scheme, which provides children from low-income families with presents at Christmas, launched yesterday at Lakeside.
The Give a Gift shop, next to McDonald’s near the House of Fraser, was opened by councillor Sue Little. She said: “It was brilliant last year, 3,500 presents were collected, and it was great that Lakeside has allowed us to do this here.”
The idea is for people to pick a star with a child’s name on it and then go and buy them a Christmas present.
