Taxi driver celebrates 40 years working in Thurrock
A Stanford-le-Hope taxi driver is celebrating 40 years of picking people up in Thurrock this year.
Roger Ford, 73, obtained his taxi licence back in December 1977 and, apart from a few years in South Ockendon, has spent that time as a Stanford-le-Hope taxi driver.
Mr Ford, who is an independent taxi driver using a Hackney Carriage licence, said: “I love meeting new people on the job.
“I have also loved watching my customers from Stanford-le-Hope grow up and get married.”
