A total of 129 drivers were spoken to in the area around intu Lakeside shopping centre for a multitude of motoring offences in just one day.

On Sunday, November 11, police visited the shopping complex in Thurrock dealt with a number of offences, including people not wearing seatbelts and using their mobile phones while driving.

Officers also dealt with one driver for driving while disqualified, driving without insurance and MOT, using a vehicle in a dangerous condition and obstructing a police officer.

Two passengers were given fixed penalty notices for obstructing a police officer. The vehicle was seized.

As many as 34 vehicle owners were found to have illegally tinted windows, 20 people were found to be driving vehicles without a valid MOT and 31 people were dealt with for not wearing seatbelts.

Three drivers were found to be transporting young children who were not in car seats. 

Three drivers were also dealt with for using mobile phone, while four did not have number plates that conformed to regulations and three were stopped for driving vehicles in a dangerous condition.
