Superfast Essex has been recognised for its success nationally and internationally after being shortlisted for three prestigious awards.
Essex County Council’s superfast broadband programme has been selected as a potential winning candidate for its achievements in superfast broadband delivery as well as team performance and project excellence.
The three awards Superfast Essex has been shortlisted for are the Next Gen Digital Challenge Awards – Connected Britain Award, the UK IT Industry Awards – IT Project Team of the Year and the World Communications Awards – Broadband Pioneer Award
Superfast Essex has so far enabled 95,000 homes and businesses to access superfast broadband and is aiming to reach 99 per cent of Essex by 2021
Kevin Bentley, deputy leader and county councillor responsible for economic growth, skills, infrastructure and digital economy, said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Superfast Essex to be shortlisted for not one, but three high profile awards.
“It is testament to the ongoing hard work of the team and recognition the programme deserves.”
