A YOUNG Westcliff woman braved the shave and had her hair cut to a one-all-over for charity.

Ellise Mitchell, 20, visited Halo Hair and Beauty in Westcliff and had her hair shaved off as part of a fundraising scheme for Havens Hospices - which was where her grandfather was cared for before hedied.

She has raised almost £600.

She said: “It was ten years on July 21 that my grandad passed away at Havens. They were amazing.

“The love and care that they gave to my grandad was second to none and I wanted to give something back to them.”

Miss Mitchell, who is off to Brighton University in September, is also donating her hair to the Little Princess Trust.

She added: “Being able to give my hair to a little girl or boy and for them to feel pretty again is amazing.”

Although nervous on first entering the hairdressers, Miss Mitchell soon overcame her worries when she thought about how much money she had raised.

She said: “When I stepped into the hairdressers, I was like ‘oh this is actually happening’.

“But when I sat down it felt amazing thinking about the money that I have raised.”

Ellise raised a total of £570.
