A teenager is fighting for his life and another has been left seriously injured after a crash between a van and a bike on Saturday.
A 16 year old boy has serious injuries and is in a potentially life threatening condition in hospital while an 18-year-old man also received serious leg injuries.
The crash happened just before 11am on Saturday August 19, in St Chads Road, close to the junction with Calcutta Road.
A white, Triumph Sprint motorcycle was travelling on St Chads Road towards Chadwell, when it was involved in a collision with a Red Ford Transit van.
Eye witnesses reported that two air ambulances had landed at the scene.
The rider and pillion passenger, who are both from Tilbury, were taken to hospital in London.
The ambulance service have yet to respond to a request for comment.
The driver of the van, a 36-year-old man from Grays, was not injured but was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has been released under investigation.
The road was closed for a number of hours while Forensic Collision Investigators examined the scene.
