A student has filmed a video about a popular Southend character.
Natalie Hazelden, 22, of Thundersley, filmed the short video about Salvo, the well-loved Southend clown.
She said: As part of my third year studying film and moving image at Norwich University of the arts, I was required to direct my own short film.
"I've always loved documentary so knew I wanted this to be my focus. I had known about Salvo for years with us both living in Thundersley village it's hard to miss him.
"I knew a lot of people knew him but only in passing and no one really knows the real Salvo.
"Over the last year Salvo and I were in constant contact and arranged to start working on this film together.
"Over the months I attended the Annual Grimaldi service and shadowed him on the high street as well as interviews to create a profile of him that showed the man for who he is, not the man who people have made nasty rumours and judged about."
