A man has been charged in connection with a burglary in Prince Phillip Avenue, Grays that occurred shortly before 4.30am, yesterday, Wednesday, June 21.
Police were called after a man entered a property and stole the keys to a blue Mercedes before leaving with the car.
Officers located the car and a short pursuit took place before ending when the car crashed at the Orsett Cock roundabout.
The man then fled the scene on foot.
Joshua Bruce, 21, from London has been charged with a dwelling burglary, aggravated taking a vehicle without consent, aggravated dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, driving while disqualified, driving with no insurance and being in possession of cocaine.
Bruce remains in police custody and was due to appear at Basildon Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday, June 22.
