A YOUNG singer appearing on The Voice Kids was "completely over the moon" when the series three coaches all wanted her on their team.

Jessica Richardson, 13, from Langdon Hills, appeared on the new ITV television series The Voice Kids on Saturday night.

The programme is based on the adult version of the show, where singers perform “blind” auditions in front of the judges, who then turn their chairs around to see them if they want the singer in their team.

Jessica, who was "so nervous I was nearly crying" before her audition, sung Somebody to Love by Queen and, to her shock and delight, all three of the show's coaches Pixie Lott, Will.I.Am and McFly frontman Danny Jones turned their chairs around for her.

The teenager, who goes to St Martin's School in Brentwood, said: "I never expected that at all.

"It was such a massive boost.

"I was just trying to live in the moment and just hoped one of them would turn around.

"So when Pixie turned around quite early in the song I wasn't as worried from them on so it was fun.

"Then later on Danny turned around too and right at the end so did Will.I.Am.

"I thought he was just turning around as it was near the end and thought he was just turning to say Well Done but the white light which says I want you was on and it was all three of them.

"I started crying."

As all three coaches had turned around their chairs Jessica was able to choose which team she would go on, eventually decided to go with Danny from McFly as she prefers to sing rockier songs.

She said: "I'm so excited about getting through to the next stage."
