THURROCK Council for Voluntary Service and South Essex College are holding an event to showcase the catering skills of the college students.

The event will be held on Thursday January 26 at the Waves restaurant in South Essex College’s Thurrock Campus, High Street, Grays.

The five course meal will include roast beef or seabass, a choice of starters, limoncello cheesecake, petite fours with vegetarian options available for all courses – all for £20.

Proceeds from the event will go to “Giving for Thurrock - GiFT” a new fund that aims to raise much needed cash for a range of charitable and voluntary causes across Thurrock.

The event is being organised by the GiFT event and fund raising manager, Teresa O’Keeffe.

Teresa said: “I don’t know about you but a five course meal on a Thursday evening is really appealing to me – and the chance to combine it with raising money for some really good causes makes it all the better.”

“There will be a licensed bar and entertainment throughout the evening. We start with a welcome drink at 6.30 then dinner served at 7 – this will be the first of an exciting series of events throughout the year."
