A CHILDRENS charity visited a school for a safety campaign.
Pupils at Tilbury Pioneer Academy, Dickens Avenue, Tilbury welcomed the NSPCC roadshow into school for their ‘Speak Out. Stay Safe’ programme, a nationwide programme for every primary school aged child in the UK and Channel Islands, with the help of their friendly mascot, Buddy.
Through child-friendly, interactive assemblies and workshops, their specially trained staff and volunteers provided vital information to pupils about how to keep themselves safe.
The workshops included information on harm to children and how to get help if they have any worries, sensitively discussing issues without using scary words or adult language.
Dan George, head of school at Tilbury Pioneer Academy, said: “We would like to thank the NSPCC team for visiting us.
“The assemblies provided important information in a child-friendly way and the pupils were responsive to the message that was delivered.”
