FUNDS raised by a choir's annual concert will help to provide school meals for some of the world's poorest children.

The Chelmsford Community Gospel Choir's performance on October 8 is in aid of Mary's Meals, a charity that transforms young lives in Africa, Asia and South America by bringing together farmers and community volunteers to offer nutritious school meals in poverty-stricken areas.

The 'Global Gospel' show promises to be an evening of soulful, uplifting songs from around the world.

The concert takes places at 7.30pm on Saturday, October 8, at Life Church, Hall Street, Chelmsford. Tickets, priced £10 for adults, £5 for under-16s, are available from billetto.co.uk.

The event will be followed by free 'Find Your Voice' workshops, which all aspiring singers are welcome to attend, from 7pm to 9pm on Thursdays, October 13, 20 and 27, at The Orchards, near Meadgate Primary School, Mascalls Ways, Great Baddow.
