TRAINS on the Greater Anglia line to Southend are running at a reduced speed, because the weather is too hot.
Services between London Liverpool Street and Southend Victoria are likely to experience delays of about ten minutes until at least 8pm.
This is due to high temperatures on the tracks between Shenfield and Southend Victoria.
A Greater Anglia spokesman said: "Due to the forecast high temperatures today, a heat related speed restriction will be imposed on the lines between Shenfield and Southend Victoria, which may cause some minor delays.
"This speed restriction is to protect the overhead wire equipment from damage, caused by excessive expansion of the copper wires and some of the metal components within the structures."
