POLICE are hunting a man who attacked two revellers as they waited for a taxi, leaving one with serious injuries.

The men, from Westcliff were assaulted in the car park in Back Lane, Rochford, at about 1.30am on June 25.

The pair were waiting with a friend for a taxi after a night out and started speaking to a group of men in dark coloured hatchback style car which was parked in the car park.

One of the men from the group then attacked them both.

One, who is aged 38, was knocked unconscious and the other, aged 42, lost two teeth and suffered a broken ankle after he was pushed to the ground.

DC Iain White, of Southend CID, said: "This was an unprovoked attack on three members of the public ending with two of them being assaulted.

“One was left with serious injuries and the other was lucky to escape with only minor injuries after being knocked unconscious.

“I am appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to come forward.

“They can call me directly or if they are not willing to talk to police they can contact Crimestoppers.”

The attacker is described as white, aged 19 to 20, clean shaven with short, fair or brown hair and was between 5ft 7ins and 5ft 9ins tall.

He was of slim to medium build and had blue or green eyes. He was wearing tracksuit bottoms, a hooded top and trainers.
