THE heartbroken mum of a murdered animal lover has appeared on television to talk about her daughter's death to raise awareness of domestic violence.

Robert Rinder, who rules the courtroom in his hit reality show Judge Rinder, features Laura Davies' murder on his new series, which takes an in-depth look into hard-hitting crimes.

In the first episode of Judge Rinder's Crime Stories, Laura's mum Dyanne Lambert appears alongside her partner Dave Gafaell, her daughter Joanne Bright as well as police officers to relive the brutal attack.

Horse groom Laura, 21, was killed by controlling boyfriend Jordan Taylor at the Essex Horse and Pony Sanctuary in Pitsea, in July last year, after she decided to break up with him.

Unemployed Taylor, 22, who stabbed Laura 81 times in a frenzied attack, was convicted of murder and jailed for a minimum of 23 years in January.

Ms Lambert, 54, of Churchill Avenue, Basildon, said she agreed to take part in the show after producers contacted her after the murder trial.

She said: "They contacted me because they were interested in Laura's life and what had happened to her.

"I decided to take part because I wanted to raise awareness of the domestic violence side of things. I wanted to make parents aware of the subtle changes that can happen when someone is being controlled.

"You just don't know what could happen."

The show, which aired on Monday, described how controlling and possessive Taylor forced Laura to wear long-sleeved tops at all times and stopped her from speaking to male colleagues and old friends.

Ms Lambert added: "It was hard to watch, I was blubbering when I was watching it.

"But I take my hat off to them, they did her justice.

"They did a reconstruction of the attack and took a video off his Facebook where he was hitting the punch bag.

"They did show a tiny bit of the CCTV footage, but only the end of it, because the rest of it was too graphic for television.

"They just showed the bit where he picked up a bucket to cover the pool of blood. I'm glad because that's all the family have ever seen and I don't want to see any more."

Eye-witness Bruce Sequin, who called the police after seeing Taylor stab Laura, also featured on the show, as well as Laura's ex-boyfriend and best friend Ryan Dent.

Judge Rinder's Crime Stories is aired at 2pm on ITV every day this week.
