Ten travellers' caravans which settled on Oliver Road in Grays on Wednesday have been cleared by police.
Police were called to an industrial estate on Oliver Road, Grays at 8.10pm on April 27 following reports an empty industrial unit had been broken to.
Officers said an unauthorised traveller encampment of about ten caravans and ten vehicles had been set up inside the unit.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers attended and spoke with the travellers and the landowner. Police monitored the situation overnight and remained at the site yesterday, April 28.
"Police issued the travellers with a notice to leave the site under Section 68 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act and officers were deployed to enforce this.
"The travellers left peacefully by about 10.45pm."
