BLUES outfit Tim Aves & Wolfpack return to Billericay on Friday night for their first live outing of 2016.

The band’s New Crawdaddy Club gig will also give fans a fresh chance to grab a copy of their 2011 debut album, the Wolfpack Burnham Sessions, newly reissued, in response to public demand.

Wolfpack’s debut won worldwide airplay and plaudits when it first came out, with one member of the prestigious American Blues Foundation describing it as “capturing the soul, passion and artistry of legendary Chicago bluesman Howlin’ Wolf”.

The last few copies of the original pressing were lost when the band’s merchandising box was stolen, along with more than £11,000 of the band’s equipment last year.

Frontman Tim Aves said: “One of the many upsetting things about losing all that stuff was along with the amps, pedals, mics and our entire PA system, we lost the last few copies of the Burnham Sessions CD.

“Since then, quite a few people have been asking where they can getacopy and it was rather embarrassing to say we no longer had any, which is why we’ve now stumped up forafresh pressing.”

You can buy the album – and catch the band, including four-times British Blues Award-nominated guitarist Joel Fisk – at the New Crawdaddy Club, at Billericay Town FC’s Blunts Wall Road clubhouse, on Friday night from about 8.30.

Admission is £7.
