A Grays woman has been cautioned by police after pushing a jiffy bag filled with dog excrement through her Muslim neighbour's letter box.

Police were alerted to Karen Hastie's actions on Friday 13, the night of the Paris terror attacks, after she posted on Facebook that she had delivered the package to her neighbour.

At 8.53pm on November 13, Karen Hastie, 54, from Grays, put messages on Facebook saying: "I just delivered someone’s karma. Mrs muz rat b*** face from yesterday has just got a jiffy envelope filled with dog **** through the b****** letterbox.

"I wish I could be fly on the wall. Imagine opening a package filled with ****. Happy days for sure."

Karen Hastie received the caution from Essex Police for malicious communications, and the forces' hate crime unit confirmed they would not be pursuing further investigations of the incident.

Ms Hastie's actions were reported by the English Defence League News. Ms Hastie is also believed to have posted supportive links for the EDL in the past.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "A 53-year-old woman received a caution for malicious communications following her arrest on Tuesday, November 19, relating to reports of offensive Facebook posts."
